한국 노인의 사회관계망 유형과 건강상태의 관계: 남녀집단별 분석 = Social network and health status among Korean elders Social network and health status among Korean elders

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this study, we aimed to find answers to the following research questions: 1) How are the social network types of the Korean elderly classified? 2) How are the social network types of the Korean elderly and their health status are related? We analyzed raw data of the "2004 Living Profile and Welfare Service Needs of Older Persons in Korea," collected by KIHASA(Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs). We used the latent class analysis to find structural forms of the social network types of the Korean elderly. The results of the latent class analysis showed that the social network types were different by gender. Health status differed significantly among the social network types of the Korean elders. When we control for age, education and household income level, these differences disappeared among males but remained amogn female elders.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

인구 고령화의 급속화로 노인의 자살률 증가와 같은 사회문제가 대두되고 있는데, 노인의 정서적 고립감이나 사회적 관계망의 약화가 원인으로 지적되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 첫째, 한국 가족형태의 특성상 가족관계를 세분화하여 한국 노인의 사회관계망 유형을 분석하고, 둘째, 사회관계망 유형과 건강상태와의 관련성을 분석하고, 결과가 의미하는 정책적 함의를 도출하고자 하였다. 한국보건사회연구원에서 생산한 『2004년도 전국노인생활실태 및 복지욕구 조사』원자료에 대한 잠재집단 분석 (latent class analysis)을 활용한 결과 한국 노인의 사회관계망은 광범위형, 배우자중심형, 제한형, 동거자녀중심형 등 4가지 유형으로 분류되었으나 남녀 노인간에 세부유형에서는 차이가 보였다. 한국 노인의 사회관계망 유형은 노인이 처한 인구사회학적 위치에 따라 다르게 형성되고 있었으며, 남녀 노인 모두 제한형이나 동거자녀 중심형 집단의 경우 사회경제적 지위가 낮았다. 공분산분석을 통해 사회관계망 유형과 건강상태와의 관계를 분석한 결과 노인의 사회관계망 유형에 따라 건강상태에서 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 전반적으로 제한된 사회관계망형과 자녀중심형이 다른 유형에 비해 건강상태가 좋지 않았으며, 광범위형이 좋은 것으로 나타났다.
