The act of recollecting is the process of pulling up a memory into consciousness and making it into a discussion on the level of the reality. This is the work of attempting the making of the memory images into a language. And, at the same time, it is the work of recognizing the ego. We form the present based on the past, and we have the standards for the behavior and the belief in the experiences of the past. Because of this, the recollection of the past by ourselves, who have been living in the present, is an everyday life that repeats, as a matter of course, even if it is not aware of.
By the way, because the memory images that were obtained through the recollection are very weak, the other information gets mixed and contaminates, and they get lost due to the external shocks. Such a loss and editing of the memory become the bases behind the proposition, 'The perfect recollection is impossible.' Despite this, the mankind has not stopped the actions of the recordings, including painting the pictures, writing the diaries, taking the photos, etc. Although it is said that the murals, which were the very first recordings, were caused by the wishes of hoping some things rather than being the attempts at preserving the memories, even after the uncertainty of the memory was confirmed by the French philosopher Henri Bergson, the recordings by the mankind has continued. Why do we produce the records and collect the recollection images even when we know that they are far away from the facts of the experiences?
In order to answer such questions, the researcher introduces the memories of the two kinds that cause the desire to record of the researcher in this thesis, and the special characteristics of the recollection images that can read through them are analyzed. Such an analysis takes place within the philosophical discourses regarding the memory, the recollection, the ego, and the images. And, when, by going through the processes of 'the capturing and the stuffing' and 'the inference and the application', the memory becomes a recollection image, the value and the function it possesses in the reality are researched. And the method of reorganizing the images that were recollected based on the works of art of the person concerned on the screen is explained. The pictorial expression techniques, the selection of the colors, the use of the multiple images, etc. that take place in the process of transforming the bits of the memories into the paints are analyzed.
Through this thesis, the researcher had intended to analyze at what location in the reality the recollection images that came up in the mind of the person concerned function. Also, based on the images that were summoned to the reality, it had been researched as to what pictorial expressions were triggered, and it had been intended to leave the possibilities regarding such pictorial expressions open.
