출소자의 가족믿음이 회복탄력성에 미치는 영향: 사회적 지지와 자존감의 매개효과 검증 = A Study on the Impact of Ex-prisoner’s Trust within the Family on Resilience: The Mediation Effect of Social Support and Self-esteem

The purpose of this study is to investigate the comprehensive pathways based on determinants of resilience proved from previous studies. Ex-offenders’ trust within the family has been proved to affect their reentry into the community and prevent recidivism, so this study tries to clarify the path between ex-prisoners’ trust within the family and resilience through multiple mediators: social support and self-esteem. For this purpose, we surveyed the ex-prisoners under the control of the Korea Rehabilitation Agency and verified their trust within family, social support, self-esteem and resilience through structural equations. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, building up trust in family has a direct effect on social support, self-esteem, and resilience. Second, the increase of social support influences the self-esteem and strengthens resilience. Third, trust within family has a significant effect on resilience through social support and self-esteem. This suggests that trust within family, social support, and self-esteem interact with each other. Based on the results of this study, it is aimed to provide a basis for understanding the high recidivism despite the implementation of proven family treatment programs.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 선행연구에서 회복탄력성에 미치는 결정요인들을 검토하여 변인들 간의 종합적인 경로를 밝히고, 출소자들의 회복탄력성을 보다 심도 있게 연구하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 출소자가 사회적응을 하고 재범을 방지하는데 토대가 되는 가족 구성원 간의 상호믿음이 출소자의 사회적 지지와 자존감에 미치는 상호관계를 밝히고 회복탄력성으로 가는 경로를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를위해 한국법무보호복지공단에서 지원을 받고 있는 출소자들에게 설문조사를 실시하여 가족믿음, 사회적 지지, 자존감, 회복탄력성의 관계를 구조방정식을 통해 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 가족 간의 신뢰형성이 사회적 지지, 자존감, 회복탄력성에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 사회적 지지의 증대는 자존감을 높이는데 영향을 미치고 회복탄력성을 강화하였다. 셋째, 사회적 지지와 자존감을 매개로 가족믿음이 회복탄력성에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났는데, 이로써 출소자의 회복탄력성 향상에는 가족믿음, 사회적 지지, 자존감이 각각의 영향력뿐만 아니라 서로 상호작용하며, 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 출소자의 회복탄력성을 향상시키기 위한 변인들의 종합적인 경로를 이해하여 효과성이 입증된 프로그램들의 시행에도 높은 재복역률을 이해할 수 있는 단초를 제공하고자 한다.
