윤백남의 연극개량론 연구

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper is aimed to study on Yun Baek-nam’s articles and activities during 1910’s~1920’s. His works proceeded with theater reform like vulgar theater. Most important, we must reread his the “Drama and Society” that has known to progressive and enlightening article until now. The article has conformism thought about imperialism and colonialism ideology by Japanese imperialism why we must reread his article.
He tried to make new Sinpa drama alike the Japanese’s in 1910’s. He attended to Japanese improvement movement. Accordingly, he had absorbed appearance of the Japanese’s. However, his works also got japanese colonial ideology like patriarchy and moral ideal. After that, he realized to need new form as a modern drama. These result, he designed the “Nation Theater”. The nation theater had planned to make the nation for the modern state that is usually empire. He planned for it after removed the spirit of the Joseon and colonial reality. Moreover, He suggested to led by the government for theater reform and institutionalize system. He also tried to make Society Theater and Popular Theatre in his perspective that the modern drama has combination of enlightenment and popularity. In effect, those dramas didn’t have modern trends of thought.
In conclusion, he could imagine new community that combined other ethnic groups. The thing with he was, he wanted to be a loyal retainer nation of the Empire of Japan. Therefore, his Nation Theater can change the Nation State Theater very easily.
