심미적 교육으로서의 무용교육의 실천 방안 탐구 = Exploring Practical Approaches to Dance Education as Aesthetic Education

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 심미적 교육이 현대사회에서 지니는 함의와 심미적 무용교육의 실천 방향을 조명하는 데 연구의 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 문광훈의 심미적 경험이론과 Maxine Greene의 심미적 교육철학에 기반을 두어 McCutchen의 코너스톤 모형을 매개로 심미적 무용교육의 실천 가능성 및 방향을 논의하였다. 연구의 결과로 첫째, 무용은 주체의 직접적 체험을 토대로 감성, 지성, 영성 등의 총체적인 작용을 일으킨다는 점에서 Greene의 깨어있는 의식과 문광훈의 감성과 이성의 조화를 실현하기에 이상적인 교육 영역이다. 둘째, McCutchen의 코너스톤 모형을 이루는 네 가지의 핵심 원리들은 독립성을 지니면서도 상호 유기적 관계성을 중심에 둘 때 심미적 무용교육을 구현하는 적절한 토대가 된다. 셋째, 심미적 무용교육은 그 실천 과정이 자기 형성적이고 사회 변혁적인 성격을 지닌다는 점에서 개인적 차원에서의 성장과 사회적 차원에서의 성숙을 지향 한다. 넷째, 심미적 무용교육은 동작의 숙달에 치중하지 않고, 인간의 잠재된 반성력을 실현하여 심미적 자유 를 누리는 것에 주안점을 둔다. 따라서 본 연구는 현대사회가 이룩한 고도 산업화와 디지털화가 일으키는 여러 교육적 과제 가운데, 심미적 교육의 중요성을 조명하였다. 더불어 심미적 무용교육이 인간의 본질을 회복하는 데 유의미한 예술적 통로가 될 수 있음을 제시하였다.

This study explores the significance of aesthetic education in modern society and examines prac- tical approaches to implementing aesthetic dance education. To achieve this, it discusses the feasi- bility and direction of aesthetic dance education through McCutchen’s Cornerstone Model, drawing on Moon Kwang-hoon’s theory of aesthetic experience and Maxine Greene’s philosophy of aesthetic education. The findings of the study are as follows: First, dance serves as an ideal educational plat- form for embodying Greene’s idea of awakened consciousness and Moon Kwang-hoon’s balance be- tween sensibility and reason. This is due to its ability to evoke a holistic response, integrating emo- tion, intellect, and spirituality through direct personal experience. Second, the four key principles of McCutchen’s Cornerstone Model provide a solid foundation for aesthetic dance education when ap- proached as an interconnected framework rather than as separate elements. Third, aesthetic dance education is a journey towards personal growth and social maturity, as it is both self-formative and socially transformative. Fourth, it is not about mastering movement, but about realizing the potential for reflection and aesthetic freedom within each individual. This study highlights the empowering na- ture of aesthetic education, particularly in the face of the challenges posed by our highly in- dustrialized and digitized modern society. Furthermore, it presents aesthetic dance education as a meaningful artistic pathway to restore the essence of our humanity.
