K-POP 수업이 몽골 유학생의 문화 적응과 학업 동기에 미치는 영향 = The Impact of K-POP Classes on Cultural Adaptation and Academic Motivation of Mongolian International Students

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 K-POP 수업이 몽골 유학생들의 문화 적응과 학업 동기에 미치는 영향을 분석하는 것을 목적으 로 한다. K-POP이 단순한 대중문화를 넘어 교육적 도구로 활용될 가능성이 커짐에 따라, 이를 활용한 교육 방식이 유학생들에게 미치는 영향을 심층적으로 탐구하였다.
연구 방법으로는 심층 인터뷰를 통해 유학생들의 경험을 분석하고, NVivo 소프트웨어를 활용하여 주요 주 제를 도출하였다. 연구 참여자는 한국 내 대학에서 K-POP 수업을 수강한 몽골 유학생 15명이며, 문화 적응 과 학업 동기 변화를 중심으로 정성적 데이터를 수집하였다.
연구 결과, K-POP 수업은 몽골 유학생들의 문화 적응과 학업 동기에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 가사 분석 을 통한 한국어 학습, 뮤직비디오 감상을 통한 사회적 규범 이해, 공연 실습을 통한 공동체 의식 형성이 주요 요인으로 작용했다. 또한, K-POP 수업은 학습자들의 한국어 및 전공 수업에 대한 관심을 높이는 데 기여했 다. 그러나 일부 학생들은 K-POP 수업이 현대적 콘텐츠 중심으로 운영되어 전통 한국 문화와의 연계가 부족 하다고 지적하였다.
이에 따라 향후 K-POP 수업에서는 한국 전통 문화 요소를 함께 교육하는 방안이 필요하며, 이를 통해 보 다 균형 잡힌 문화 교육이 가능할 것이다. 본 연구는 K-POP을 교육적 도구로 활용하는 방안에 대한 실질적 인 시사점을 제공하며, 다문화 교육과 한류 기반 학습 전략 개발에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

This study examines the impact of K-POP classes on the cultural adaptation and academic motiva- tion of Mongolian international students. As K-POP extends beyond popular culture to serve as an educational tool, this research explores its influence on students’ experiences.
Through in-depth interviews and NVivo software analysis, qualitative data were collected from 15 Mongolian students enrolled in K-POP courses at universities in Korea. The findings indicate that K-POP classes positively contribute to cultural adaptation through Korean language learning via lyric analysis, understanding social norms through music videos, and fostering a sense of community through performance practice. Additionally, these courses enhance academic motivation by increasing students’ engagement in Korean language and major-related studies. However, some participants not- ed a lack of connection between K-POP courses and traditional Korean culture.
To address this, future K-POP education should integrate traditional cultural elements for a more balanced approach. This study provides practical insights into using K-POP as an educational tool and contributes to the development of multicultural education and Hallyu-based learning strategies.
