대학생 진로자기조절 척도 개발 및 타당화 연구 = A Study on the Development and Validity of the Scale of College Students Career Self-Regulation

The purpose of this study is to define the concept of career self regulation from self regulation perspectives; to develop and validate the career self regulation scale for the university students in Korea. To accomplish this purpose, this study carefully was explored the components of career self regulation by reviewing previous studies on general self regulation and putting together the results of open-ended questionnaire survey and interview. Students, graduates, and career counseling practitioners were participated in the survey or interview. Based on the identified components, an operational definition of career self regulation was conceptualized as ‘the ability to regulate thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to attain career goals’. The construct validity and concurrent validity of the career self regulation scale were examined by statistical analysis. The results of exploratory factor analysis and reliability analysis, using a sample of 728 students, was revealed that career self regulation scale was consisted of 5 factors and a reliable, stable scale. The result of confirmatory factor analysis, using a different sample of 1132 students, was revealed that the factor structures of five sub-scales were appropriate. Also, the career self regulation scale showed a positive correlation with general self regulation but the scale had a negative correlation with career indecision. As a result of this study, the career self regulation scale consisted of 5 factors with 25 items. The five factors were ‘goal congruency monitoring’ ‘positive career thinking’ ‘career feedback’ ‘career environment development’ ‘career commitment volition’. It is expected that the scale developed in this study is used not only to deepen an understanding of career self regulation in Korean culture but also to provide essential contents of career self regulation improvement programs for Koreans.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 자기조절의 개념을 진로분야에 도입하여 진로자기조절 척도를 개발하는 것이다. 이에 따라 자기조절 연구동향과 관련척도들의 검토를 통하여 진로자기조절의 개념과 구성요인을 살펴보았다. 또한 대학생들과 졸업생, 그리고 진로상담 실무자들에게 개방형설문조사 및 면접을 실시하여 우리나라 학생들의 의견을 척도개발에 수렴하였다. 그 결과, 진로자기조절은 진로목표가 달성 될 때까지 자신의 목표를 유지하도록 사고, 정서, 행동을 조정하는 능력으로 정의되었고 이를 바탕으로 문항 제작을 하게 되었다. 문항들에 대한 전문가들의 내용타당도를 확보하고, 728명을 대상으로 예비검사와 본 검사를 통해 탐색적 요인분석과 신뢰도검증을 실시하였다. 이후 1132명을 대상으로 확인적 요인분석을 실시하여 내적타당성을 확보하였고, 일반자기조절검사와 진로미결정검사와의 관계분석을 실시한 결과 유의한 상관관계가 나타나 공인타당도도 입증되었다. 이러한 결과를 통해서 진로자기조절은 ‘계획 및 점검’ ‘긍정적진로사고’ ‘진로피드백’ ‘진로환경조성’ ‘진로몰입의지’의 5요인 25개 문항으로 완성되었으며, 추후 진로상담의 연구 및 실제에 활용되어 대학생 진로개발에 기초정보를 제공할 것으로 기대한다.
