In 1997, about 80 percent of farm households has farm debt In korea.
In such a situation, if we want to solve the delay of unredeemed farm debt, we need to find out the factors that have an influence on farm debt.
For this study, we selected variables that have an influence on repayment of farm debt, and analyzed how much each variables have an Influence on repayment of farm debt by the size of cultivated land. This study selected four variables, that is, size of cultivated land, non-business income, interest rate, output price / input price ratio as explanatory variables that have an influence on the repayment of farm debt. And then we estimated multiple-regression on the repayment farm debt by the size of cultivate이 and. We did "Chow Test" to find that there are differences among behaviors on the repayment of farm debt by each land size.
The major study results are as follows,
Behaviors on repayment of farm debt in korea are able to divide into two parts - the small farmers(less than 1.0ha) and the medium and large scale farmers(1.0ha and over). It is found that the factors have an influence on repayment of farm debt are scale of cultivated land, the interest rate, output price, and input price in the case of all the farmers.
So counterplan for the solution of farm debt must be synthetic. It consists of the structural policy including tile expansion of cultivated land size, the financial policy, and the price policy etc. A class of less than 1.0 ha is required of the structural policy including the expansion of cultivated land size and non-business income policy. And in the case of 1.oha and over, first of all, the structural policy including the expansion of cultivated land size is emphasized.
