To investigate the overall clinical effect of Ceftezole, a new cephalosporin C derivative, we administered Ceftezole into 30 patients with infection during the period of May, 1986 to August, 1986.
The results were as follows:
1) The clinical effect: 8cases were excellent, 12 cases were good, 5 cases were slightly good, 3 cases were poor, and 2 cases were unkown. The clinical effective rate is 83%.
2) The bacteriological effect:bacterial clonies were eradicated in 12 cases, decreased in 10 cases, persisted in 3 cases, changed in 3 cases, and 2 cases were unkown. The bacteriological effective rate is 73%.
3) The overall clinical effect: 7 cases were excellent, 15 cases were good, 5 cases were slightly good, 1 case was poor, and 2 cases were unkown. The overall clinical effective rate is 90%.
4) There were no specific side effects.
