클래식 연주 영상의 스토리텔링 연출 연구 = Studying Storytelling of Classical Performance Videos

This study analyzed <Fall on Me> and <Caruso>, which have been attracting continuous viewing on YouTube by creating videos with a story attached to a one-time classical performance, from the perspective of storytelling, and analyzed the production of characters, backgrounds, and props. As a result, both videos focus on the production of facial expressions and movements as the main characters of the video in addition to the performer's performance at the beginning of section 1, and in the development, characters related to the music appear, drawing attention to the story other than the performance. In the climax of section 2, add creative elements or props to match the peak flow of the performance and story, and conclude with a quieter performance and story wrap-up in the ending. In the end, the key to creating a storytelling video of a classical performance is to focus on the performer's facial expressions and movements to match the characteristics of the original song and instrument, the order and placement of performers, editing such as close-ups and timing to emphasize specific parts of the face, instrument, or hand, diversification of locations and backgrounds without distractions, and creative use of props and materials such as old photos and rain showers.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 1회성의 클래식 연주에 스토리를 가미한 영상을 제작하여 유튜브에서 지속적인 시청을 유도하고 성과를 올리고 있는 <폴 온 미>와 <카루소>를 대상으로 스토리텔링 관점에서 등장인물 연출과 배경 및 소품 등의 영상 연출에 대해 분석하였다. 그 결과 두 영상은 공통적으로 1절의 발단에서 연주자의 연주 이외에 영상의 주연으로써 표정과 동작 연출에 집중하고, 전개에서 음악과 연관성이 있는 인물이 등장하면서 연주 이외의 스토리로 시선을 유도한다. 2절의 절정에서 연주와 스토리의 최고조 흐름에 맞추어 창의적인 소재나 소품이 더해지고, 결말에서 조용한 연주와 스토리의 여운을 주는 연출로 마무리한다. 결국 클래식 연주 영상의 스토리텔링 연출은 원곡과 악기의 특성에 어울리는 연주자의 표정과 동작 연출을 중심으로 출연자의 등장순서와 배치, 얼굴과 악기, 손 등의 특정 부위를 강조하는 클로즈업과 타임 조절 등의 편집, 산만하지 않는 장소와 배경의 다각화, 그리고 과거 사진이나 소나기 등 소품·소재의 창의적인 활용 등 기승전결 이론에 충실한 영상 연출이 핵심이다.
