This study focuses on plays appearing in the poetry of Sin Gyeong-Rim to take a look at how it contributes to the lives of people. Those plays appearing in his poetry would be the poetic apparatus of temporary revitalization for the depressed lives of the people. This article considers that, even though the reality of the people is extremely weary and troublesome, the amusing nature innate within human beings would be the driving force to sustain such lives.
Those plays intended to handle in this article are the plays that are classified from the works not the plays within ordinary events. During the 1970s and 1980s, the leisure time for the people would be the idle time from agriculture and holidays, and through those plays done from these periods, Sin Gyeong-Rim reproduced the appearance of people who spent relaxation time from the busy schedule. The playground becomes the venue to share the sympathy together and the respective frustration is radiated in singing and dance of each other. The play as a popular culture and the play as a human nature are encountered in a way of expressing their perspective toward the world and life through the plays without stagnating in people’s melancholy lives as the peripheral existence any longer.
