      The purpose of this study was to analyze the implications of student-led autonomous physical activity clubs for fifth and sixth grade students of an elementary school based on the creative experiential learning activity area of the 2015 curriculum. Data were collected through participant observation in teacher meetings and club activities, public and personal documents, and interviews with teachers in charge and students participated in club activities. For data analysis, case records and inductive category analysis were conducted, and the results were as follows. First, the club management method was theoretically based on a self-directed learning model. Second, teachers and students showed positive recognition for the operating process that they planed and executed themselves, and gave meaning to experiencing self-direction. Third, it was found that the success factors of club activities were possible because of the generation of intrinsic motivation and achievement goal-oriented operation by self-determination. Fourth, it was found that students were growing as they taught and learned from each other through the use of peer teaching. In conclusion, since club activities based on the curriculum were guaranteed relative autonomy compared to physical education, they could achieve sufficient educational effects in many aspects, and could be another effective physical activity model as a complementary role to physical education.
