스포츠에서의 공정성 문제: 자연성과 인위성

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구에서는 스포츠의 공정성을 보다 명확하게 확보하기 위해 인위적인 불공정 요소들을 검토하였는데, 이러한 시도는 스포츠에서의 경쟁이 자연적인 상태에서 이루어지는 것을 추구하기 때문이다. 이후 인위적으로 발생할 수 있는 불공정한 요소들이 어떠한 문제로 인해 논란이 될 수 있는지를 논의하는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 공정성을 확보하기 위해서는 정형화된 기준이 필요한데, 인위적인 불공정성 요소들은 정형화된 기준이 불분명한 상태이기 때문에 자연성과 인위성 사이에 존재하는 것이다. 그러한 요소들은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 보다 기준을 명확히 할 필요가 있는 도핑 영역이다. 둘째, 경기력을 향상시킬 수 있는 수술 영역이다. 셋째, 국가의 전력을 무분별하게 향상시킬 수 있는 귀화 영역이다. 넷째, 선수들에게 이루어지는 지원의 영역이다. 다섯째, 장애선수들의 인위성과 자격 영역이다. 이처럼 5가지 영역들은 스포츠에서 공정성 논란이 될 수 있기에 명확한 기준이 필요한 실정이다. 스포츠에서는 주로 자연적으로 획득되는 요소에 대해서는 제재를 하지 않고 있다. 하지만 인위적으로 획득될 수 있는 요소는 제재를 하는 경우도 있고, 허용을 하는 경우가 있는 등 그 기준이 모호하다. 이 연구에서는 이러한 요소들을 살펴보고 그에 대한 경각심과 필요성을 제기하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this study, artificial unfair factors were examined to clarify the fairness of sport. The purpose of this study is to discuss how unfair factors that arise artificially can be controversial. This is because competition in sports seeks to be done in a natural state. In order to ensure fairness, a formal standard is needed. However the standards for some artificial unfairness factors between nature and artificialness are not yet certain. The following is the factors. First is doping, which needs to be clarified. Second is the surgical field, which can improve athletic performance. Third is the matter of naturalization that can improve a nation’s success arbitrarily. Fourth is the field of support for athletes. Fifth is the artificialness and qualification area in disabled athletes. These five areas need formal norms because they can be controversial in sports. In sport, sanctions are not made on elements that are naturally acquired. However, the factors which could be sanctioned or permitted and can be obtained artificially are ambiguous in their standards. In this study, we examined these factors and raised awareness and necessity for them.
