국채보상운동과 의병전쟁의 관련성에 대한 일고찰 -충북 제천지역 국채보상의연금 분석을 중심으로- = A Study on the Relationship Between the National Debt Redemption Movement and the Righteous Army War -Focusing on the Analysis of National Debt Redemption Donations in the Jecheon Region, Chungbuk-

국문 초록 (Abstract)

· 연구 주제: 본 연구는 국채보상운동과 의병전쟁의 관련성을 제천지역의 국채보상의연금 분석을 통해 검토하고자 한 것이다.
· 연구 배경: 국채보상운동은 의병과 함께 경술국치 이전 가장 대표적인 국권회복운동이었고, 이로 인해 여러 연구가 있었으나 제천지역에 관한 연구는 없었다. 또한 국채보상운동과 의병전쟁의 관계에 대해서도 관심이 부족했고, 연구가 거의 없었기 때문에 진행하게 되었다.
· 선행연구와의 차이점: 제천지역 국채보상운동에 대한 연구는 물론 국채보상운동과 의병전쟁의 관계에 대해서도 연구가 없기 때문에 독창성을 갖는다.
· 연구방법: 대한매일신보 등 당시 발간된 신문자료에서 제천지역 국채보상운동에 대한 의연 사례를 조사하여 검토하였고, 그 내용을 제천지역 의병전쟁의 흐름과 연계하여 검토하고자 하였다.
· 연구결과: 제천지역의 국채보상운동은 1907년 5월 본격화되어 7~8월경 절정을 맞이했고, 1908년까지 지속된 것으로 보인다. 인근 지역에 비해 참여자와 금액은 모두 적은 편이었고, 단체를 통한 의연 역시 거의 없었다. 이 같은 경향은 제천을 중심으로 전개되었던 의병전쟁과 관계가 있는 것이었다.
· 공헌점 및 기대효과: 지금까지 연구된 바 없는 제천지역의 국채보상운동을 검토했다는 점에서 연구사적 의의가 있다. 또한 연구방법론적으로도 지역 국채보상운동의 전개 양상에 의병전쟁의 여파를 고려한 것은 기존 선행연구에서는 거의 시도되지 않았던 방법론이기 때문에 의미가 있다.

· Research topics: This study aims to examine the relationship between the National Debt Redemption Movement and the Righteous Army War through an analysis of National Debt Redemption donations in the Jecheon region.
· Research background: The National Debt Redemption Movement, along with the Righteous Army, was one of the most representative national sovereignty restoration movements before the Japan-Korea Annexation in 1910. Although various studies have been conducted on this topic, no research has focused on the Jecheon region. Furthermore, the relationship between the National Debt Redemption Movement and the Righteous Army War has not been explored, which led to the initiation of this study.
· Differences from prior research: Since there are no prior studies on this research topic, this study possesses originality in itself.
· Research method: In newspaper materials published at the time, such as 大韓每日申報, the case of the The National Debt Redemption Movement in Jecheon was thoroughly investigated and reviewed, and the contents were intended to be reviewed in connection with the flow of the righteous army war in Jecheon.
· Research results: The National Debt Repayment Movement in the Jecheon region began in May 1907 and reached its peak around July and August, continuing until 1908. Compared to neighboring areas, both the number of participants and the amount of donations were relatively small, and there was almost no organized fundraising through associations. This trend was related to the righteous army movements that took place around Jecheon.
· Contribution points and expected effects: This study holds academic significance in that it examines the National Debt Repayment Movement in the Jecheon region, which has not been explored in previous research. Furthermore, from a methodological perspective, considering the aftermath of the Righteous Army War in relation to the development of the regional National Debt Repayment Movement is a novel approach that has rarely been attempted in prior studies, making it meaningful.
