자기통제력의 차원성 검증 및 비행에 대한 하위차원간의 상호작용 효과의 검증 = The Test of Dimensionality of Self-control and the Interaction Effect between Sub-dimensions of Self-control Affecting on Delinquency

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study conducted a research focused on two questions concerning the general theory of Gottfredson and Hirschi. The first question is whether self-control, the key concept in the general theory, is appropriate as single dimension or multi-dimensional concept. In the case of multi-dimensional concept, the second is a question whether the interaction between the sub-dimensions of self-control can explain delinquency or not.
To empirical test of this question, this study used data from elementary school panel of the Korean Youth Panel Survey(KYPS). The results of this study are as follows. To test dimensionality of self-control, this study implement exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. In the result of exploratory factor analysis, self-control is have two-dimension only in 1st wave. In 2nd through 4th wave, self-control is have single-dimension. But, in 2nd through 4th wave, eigen value of the second order dimension is over .92. The result of confirmatory factor analysis in 1st wave through 4th wave appeared more fit for model of two-dimension of self-control than a single dimension.
The interaction between two-dimension which are classified into self-control as the result of exploratory factor analysis, significantly affect on delinquency in 1st, 2nd and 3rd wave. And two-dimension of self-control differently affect on delinquency in according to the conditions of each dimension.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 갓프레드슨과 허쉬의 일반이론에 관하여 두 가지의 질문을 중심으로 연구를 진행하였다. 첫 번째는 일반이론의 핵심개념인 자기통제력을 단일차원으로 보는 것이 적절한지, 다차원적 개념으로 보는 것이 적절한지에 대한 질문이다. 두 번째는 자기통제력이 다차원적인 개념인 경우에 비행을 설명함에 있어서 자기통제력의 하위차원들 간에 상호작용효과가 존재하지 않는가에 대한 질문이다.
이러한 질문에 대한 경험적 검증을 위해서 초등학생을 대상으로 한 청소년패널조사의 자료를 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 자기통제력의 차원성을 검증하기 위해서 탐색적 요인분석과 확인적 요인분석을 시행하였다. 탐색적 요인분석의 결과는 자기통제력이 1차년도에는 두 개의 차원으로 나타나고 있으나, 2차년도부터 4차년도까지는 1개의 차원인 것으로 나타나고 있다. 그렇지만 2차년도부터 4차년도까지 두 번째 차원의 고유값은 모두 .92가 넘는 것으로 나타나고 있었다. 확인적 요인분석의 결과에서는 1차년도부터 4차년도까지 단일 차원의 자기통제력보다는 자기통제력을 2개의 차원으로 구분하였을 경우에 일관되게 모든 모형적합도가 더욱 높아지는 것으로 나타났다.
탐색적 요인분석 결과에 따라서 자기통제력을 2개의 차원으로 구분하고 각 차원들 간의 상호작용이 비행에 미치는 영향을 살펴보면, 1차년도, 3차년도, 그리고 4차년도에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 자기통제력의 두 개의 차원은 각 차원의 조건에 따라 비행에 미치는 영향이 다르게 나타나는 것을 보여주고 있었다.
