腰筋(Psoas Muscle)에 發生한 橫紋筋肉腫 1例 = A Case of Rhabdomyosarcoma originated from Psoas Muscle

A case of rhabdomyosarcoma originated from psoas muscle is reported in view of its rarity.
The patient was 63 year old, gravida 5, house wife who had complained of a adult sized mass in left lower quadrant and numbness of left thigh. The mass had been palpated since 5 years ago and suddenly increased in its size 3 years ago. Since 4 months ago, she noticed numbness in left thigh.
At the time of operation, a well encapsulated large mass was found in the anterolateral portion of left psoas muscle. It measured 12X10X9cm and attached to psoas muscle medially and to pelvic bone posteriorly but anterior and lateral surfaces are free from adhesion. A small walnut sized mass was found anterolaterally of second and third intervertebral space of sacrum..
Histopthology of the mass was composed of highly cellular and pleomnorphic cellular mass, associated with hemorrhage and necrosis. The tumor cells disclosed pertinent of rhabdomyosarcoma 'and also occasionally cross striations. A brief review of the literatures was made.
