영화 유산절고《楢山節考》의 공동체 상상과 형성 = Imagination and Construction of Communality in the Movie Narayamabushiko

국문 초록 (Abstract)

나라야마 부시코(深澤七郎)의 작품 <유산절고>(楢山節考, 1956년 작)는 전후 일본 문학의 대표작 중의 하나로, 아들이 제 어머니를 업고 산에 올라가 버려 어머니를 죽음에 이르게 했다는 이야기를 묘사했다.
<유산절고>는 발표 당시 문단에 충격을 주었고, 발표 이 년 후에는 유명 감독 기노시타 게이스케(木下惠介) 의해 영화화되었다. 이 영화는 초호화 캐스팅과 배우들의 호연으로 큰 호평을 이끌어냈다.
이후 1983년에 이마무라 쇼헤이(今村昌平)가 기노시타 게이스케(木下惠介)의 영화를 리메이크했으며, 이 작품은 1983년 칸영화제에서 황금종려상을 받았다.
그러나 안타깝게도 영화평을 제외하고는 소설 원작과 영화 자체에 대한 평가는 미비하며, 두 편의 영화가 표현하고 재현해낸 내용이 소설 원작과 어떠한 유사점과 차이점이 있는지에 대해서도 충분히 논의되지 않은 상태이다.
이에 본 논문은 앞서 언급한 두 편의 영화를 통해, 가족 상상과 공동체 구성 매커니즘에 초점을 두어 어떠한 방식으로 원작 텍스트의 상상력을 영화 텍스트에서 재현하였는지를 살펴보도록 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Fukazawa Shichiro`s celebrated work Narayamabushiko (1956) was lauded as one of the representative literary pieces of post-war Japan. The story describes a son carrying his mother on his back to the mountain and abandoning her to death. The work shocked the entire literary circle and two years after its publication the famous movie director Kinoshita Keisuke made it into a film. Together with a big cast of actors and actresses the film earned its renown. Then in 1983 Imamura Shohei redirected the movie and won the best movie in the Cannes Film Festival. However, aside from film critiques little has been written on the issues concerning the literary text and the film. Much of the similarities and dissimilarities deriving from the presentation and representation between the original text and the two movies still wait to be explored. In that light, this paper will make use of the two above mentioned movies, focusing on family imagination and the construction of communality, to investigate how imagination of the original literary text can be re-presented in the movie texts.
