네트워크 도시의 연계구조와 발전전략 네덜란드의 란트스타트를 중심으로 = A Study on Randstad Holland as a Network City

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper aims to draw essential facts, to analyze the problem and to introduce alternative of Randstad Holland as a network city.
Firstly, we examined the characteristics of the network cites theoretically. The
global economy is developing an innovative class of network cities. A network cities evolve when two or more previously independent cities, potentially complementary in function, strive to cooperate and achieve significant scope economies aided by fast and reliable transport and communications infrastructure. Network Cities place a higher priority on knowledge-based activities like research, education and the creative
arts. Each constituting city stands to benefit from the synergies of interactive
growth via reciprocity, knowledge exchange and unexpected creativity.
Secondly, we discussed Randstad itself intensively. we survey the network location and outline of Randstad, the organization and major policies of Randstad and spatial specialization and interaction between the constituting cities such as North Wing, South Wing, Utrecht and Green Heart. We also discussed the problems of Randstad. and introduced the desirable policies and alternatives of Randstad. Finally, we concluded by presenting some implications for South-East region in Korea.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 네트워크 도시로서 네덜란드 란트스타트의 현황과 문제점을 분석하
고 논의되고 있는 다양한 대안들을 검토하여, 이를 토대로 한국 동남권 지역 도
시들에 대한 시사점을 제시하고자 한다.
먼저, 네트워크 도시 현상에 대해 이론적으로 논의한다. 오늘날 글로벌 경제는
네트워크 도시현상을 발전시키고 있으며, 란트스타트를 비롯한 네트워크 도시들
은 인근 도시간의 상호 협력과 연계를 통해 경쟁력을 구축하고 있다. 특히 정보
화의 진전과 지식기반경제에서 이러한 상호적 공동발전은 더욱 확산되고 있다.
란트스타트에 대한 조사와 분석은 주로 그것의 입지와 개황, 조직 및 거버넌스,
란트스타트 내 도시들 간의 공간적 특화와 분업 그리고 상호작용에 중점이 두어
졌다. 더하여 란트스타트의 문제점과 향후 대안모색에 대해 논의하였으며 이를
통해 네트워크 도시로서 란트스타트의 가능성을 재검토하였다. 마지막으로는 그
것들이 한국의 동남권지역 도시들에 대해 갖는 시사점을 분석하였다.
