<To Search for A Lost Word> deals with the problem of identity in the author. And that work is presented the process to search for his own being. the essence of novel through the method of autobiography. After all, Lee, Chung-jun asks what author is, why author writes, and what he wants. That problem is like the essence of human being. We don´t know what is truth in human life. So we just look for the truth. Lee pursues the truth with the writing. But he realizes that the truth is hard to get. That´s what the truth is. Repeatedly he shows the process to seek for the truth with the writing. He says that his life as a novelist is the living of artist. Therefore Lee´s work is nothing less than the writing is the essence of life and literature. To study the problem of Lee´s writing I use the Of Grammatology written by Jacques Derrida.
