작업치료학 전공자를 위한 한국작업과학회 국제실습 교육체계 = Systematic International Fieldwork Education by KAOS for Occupational Therapy Students in Korea

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This is a description of an occupational therapy international fieldwork(OTIF) administered by the Korean Academy of Occupational Science(KAOS). Curriculum of OTIF-KAOS education is consist of clinical fieldwork, pre-education, distance supervision, onsite guidance, and post-education. The fieldwork is volunteered and unpaid work for 4 weeks in US, as a level Ⅰ role-emerging fieldwork of non-traditional practice. Contents of the pre-education include general orientation, cultural knowledge, tips for living, communication skills, google simulation, and fellowship with fieldwork mate, learning assignments, and mentoring. The distance supervision is communication utilizing closed-SNS. Onsite guidance is a distinctive feature of OTIF-KAOS that fieldwork educator actually visits the site and guides students’ problem solving and reflective learning during their fieldwork. Post-education requires student to give a briefing on the fieldwork and be a mentor for future participants. Learning objectives of OTIF-KAOS based on the keyword of contemporary OT(client, occupation, evidence, culture) are 1) understand clients’ needs & desire, 2) identify what kind of occupational opportunity is supported and how, 3) be witness, reporter, and pioneer of the best-practice with own experience, and 4) improve cultural intelligence & competence. KAOS expects OT students grow as leader of innovative OT in future Korea through the systemic OTIF-KAOS program.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

요약 : 본 문헌은 한국작업과학회에서 주관하는 작업치료 국제실습(OTIF-KAOS) 프로그램의 교육체계에 대해 설명함으로써 국내의 작업치료 관련 국제교육의 근거를 확립하고 작업치료의 국제화와 글로벌 보건인재 양성교육에 관심 있는 작업치료인에게 영감을 주고자 한다. OTIF-KAOS의 교육 목적은 진취적이고, 주도적이고, 선도적이고, 세계적인 작업치료인을 양성하는 것이다. 교육과정은 임상실습과 이를 지원하는 사전교육, 원격지도, 현장지도, 사후교육으로 구성되어 있다. 임상실습은 신청으로 이뤄지는 자발적 무보수 실습으로, 비전통적 신흥 임상환경에서 4주간 최소 120시간 이상 이뤄지는 수준 Ⅰ 실습이다. 현재의 프로그램에서 제공하는 실습분야는 대부분 비전통적 신흥 임상환경이며 실습국가 및 지역은 미국 하와이 주, 워싱턴 주, 유타주, 펜실베니아 주로 이뤄져있다. 사전교육은 다양한 내용의 강의와 워크샵으로 구성되어 있고, 원격지도는 폐쇄형 SNS를 활용하여 이뤄진다. 현장지도는 실습교육자가 현장에 직접 방문하여 실습생의 성공적 실습경험과 성찰적 배움을 가이드 하는 것이며, 사후교육은 귀국 후 실습보고회와 지속적인 멘토링 기회를 통해 이뤄진다. 클라이언트 중심, 작업 중심, 근거기반, 문화 타당이라는 당대의 작업치료 가치론의 주제어를 바탕으로 도출 된 OTIF-KAOS 학습목표는 1) 클라이언트의 필요를 이해하기, 2) 클라이언트에게 어떤 작업적 기회가 어떻게 지원되고 있는지 파악하기, 3) 모범임상의 훌륭한 목격자로서 국내에의 보고자 및 선도자 되기, 4) 문화 감수성 및 문화 역량을 높이기이다. OTIF-KAOS의 전반적 진행과정은 설정, 지원, 심사, 선발 및 배정, 사전교육, 실습준비, 최종점검, 실습배치, 현장지도, 사후교육 순이다. 한국작업과학회는 작업치료 전공자가 국제실습 교육 과정을 통해 국내 작업치료의 진보와 혁신을 이끌어가는 작업과학 및 작업치료 리더로 성장할 수 있기를 기대한다.
