Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop practical and effective strategies to address the challenges associated with the low mandatory employment rate of teachers with disabilities in the Ministry of Education and local education offices.
Methods: Seventeen teachers with disabilities participated in this study, and their experiences and needs were analyzed through Focus Group Interviews (FGIs). The data were analyzed using the Constant Comparative Method, resulting in five main categories—support systems, personnel policies, physical support, human resource support, and awareness improvement—and 17 subcategories.
Results: Key findings highlight the need for the establishment of dedicated support departments, improvements in disability-friendly personnel and training policies, enhancement of physical and web accessibility, refinement of personal assistant systems, and the introduction of team teaching.
Conclusion: This study proposes actionable solutions for sustaining the employment of teachers with disabilities and improving their working conditions. The findings provide structural and policy-oriented implications to enhance the employment rate of teachers with disabilities and foster inclusivity in educational settings.
