그리기를 통한 내용 생성 전략이 쓰기 부진 학생의 글쓰기에 미치는 영향 연구 = A Study on the Effects of Content Generating Writing Strategy Through Drawing for Writing Underachievers

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 그리기를 통한 내용 생성 전략이 쓰기 부진 학생의 글쓰기에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위한 연구 문제는 첫째, 그리기를 통한 내용 생성 전략이 쓰기 부진 학생의 쓰기 결과에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가?, 둘째, 그리기를 통한 내용 생성 전략이 쓰기 부진 학생의 쓰기 과정에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가? 셋째, 그리기를 통한 내용 생성 전략이 쓰기 부진 학생의 쓰기 태도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가?의 세 가지로 설정하였다. 연구 대상은 연구자 학급의 학생 중 쓰기 부진 학생 5명을 선정하였으며 이들을 대상으로 그리기를 통한 내용 생성 전략을 활용해 생활문 쓰기를 지도하였다. 전략 활용 전의 학습지에서는 내용 생성을 위한 몇 가지 물음을 제시하여 이에 답하도록 한 후 글을 쓰도록 하였다. 그리고 전략 활용 이후의 학습지에서는 떠오르는 생각을 몇 개의 장면으로 나누어 그릴 수 있도록 그림 칸을 제시하여 그림을 그린 후 글을 쓰도록 하였다. 전략 활용 전 5편의 글과 전략 활용 이후 6편의 글에 나타난 변화를 살펴본 결과는 다음과 같았다.
쓰기 결과에서의 변화를 살펴보면 그리기를 통한 내용 생성 전략은 글의 분량 증가에 도움이 되었다. 또한 문단 나누기를 통한 글 조직의 발전에도 도움이 되었다. 그리고 실감나는 표현이나 생각이나 느낌 표현의 증가를 통한 글 내용의 상세화에도 도움이 되었다. 쓰기 과정에서의 변화를 살펴보면 그리기를 통한 내용 생성 전략은 쓰기 부진 학생들의 쓰기 중 집중력과 사고 활동 향상에 도움이 되었다. 그리고 쓰기 부진 학생들의 글 완성에 대한 의지 향상에도 도움이 된 것을 알 수 있었다. 쓰기 태도에서의 변화를 살펴보면 그리기를 통한 내용 생성 전략은 쓰기 부진 학생의 쓰기에 대한 흥미도 변화에 영향을 미쳤다. 그리고 쓰기 부진 학생의 자신감 변화에도 약간의 도움이 된 것을 알 수 있었다.
이를 정리해 보면, 쓰기 중 집중력 향상, 쓰기 중 사고 활동 향상, 글을 완성하고자 하는 의지 향상과 같은 쓰기 과정에서의 변화가 쓰기 결과의 긍정적인 변화에 영향을 미친 것임을 짐작할 수 있었다. 그러나 쓰기 태도에서의 변화는 상대적으로 미약하게 드러났는데 쓰기에 대한 흥미나 자신감과 같은 쓰기 태도는 몇 번의 전략 활용만으로 쉽게 변할 수 없음을 알 수 있게 되었다. 따라서 쓰기 부진 학생들의 쓰기에 대한 태도 변화, 즉 흥미나 자신감 향상을 위해서는 학생 개개인에게 적합한 방법과 전략을 구체적으로 설계해 장기간 지도하는 것이 필요할 것이라고 생각되었다.
본 연구는 그리기와 쓰기를 관련지음으로써 쓰기에 대한 부담을 줄여주고 흥미를 가질 수 있도록 하여 쓰기 능력 향상을 돕기 위한 이후의 연구에 도움이 될 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of content generating writing strategy assisted by drawing for writing underachievers. Research questions are as follows. First, what is the effect of content generating writing strategy through drawing for the writing outcome of writing underachiever? Second, what is the effect of content generating writing strategy through drawing for the writing process of writing underachiever? Third, what is the effect of content generating writing strategy through drawing for the writing attitude of writing underachiever? For this study, five underachieving students were selected out of the researcher's writing class. They were instructed to write experiential essays through content generating writing strategy through drawing. Before applying this strategy, students were asked to write an essay by answering a few questions for content generating. While applying this strategy, students were asked to write an essay by drawing their ideas paragraph by paragraph. The results of five experiential essays from before applying this strategy and six essays from after applying this strategy were analyzed in three aspects.
The changes in writing outcome were as follows. First, an increase in the amount of writing has been observed after applying content generating writing strategy through drawing. Second, writing construction by paragraphing has been improved by content generating writing strategy through drawing. Third, details of writing content were improved by realistic expressions and increasing in expressions of their thoughts. The changes in writing process were as follows. First, concentration span and thinking ability were improved by content generating writing strategy through drawing. Second, students' willingness to finish their writing was also improved. The changes in attitude were as follows. First, the interest of students for writing was improved, compared to before. Second, there were positive differences in the students' confidence towards writing.
Therefore, it is assumed that improvement of concentration, writing ability and students' willingness to finish their writing influenced the positive changes of writing outcome. On the other hand, no significant change in attitude was observed because a few times applying of writing strategy did not work efficiently. Accordingly, customized methodology and strategy for the changes of writing underachievers' attitude should be applied in longer period setting.
this study will go towards further research by suggesting the relation between writing and drawing to promote students' interests.
