      This paper presents a historical investigation into the process of nature of training in the mountain gradually permeating in kō, a Buddhist association, under the influence of syncretism of god and Buddha(神仏習合) and the aspects of kō developing into Fujikō to practice the Fuji faith in the Edo period.
      The main body consisted of chapters on the doctrines, organizations, rituals, and religious leaders of Fujikō, addressing its nature as a religious order. The chapters traced the growth of Fujikō, examined how it met the religious needs of people, and investigated which aspects of Fujikō made it so persuasive among people. The ultimate goal of Fujikō was Deungbae at Mt. Fuji, but they constantly created religious rituals and transformed them in various ways over time. Even after the beginning of modern times, there was the ongoing emergence of various sects under the name of Fujikō, and the rituals they practiced also diverged in diverse ways.
      Such professional trainees as Oshi, Sendatsu, and Yamabushi led the Deungbae at Mt. Fuji as leaders, but they remained only as helpers in the practice of Fuji faith. Only when there was a request of inner member for Gajigido(加持祈禱) or incarnation ceremony practiced within Fujikō, the professional trainees would come and perform one, which clearly points to differences between people"s faith Fujikō and the old Buddhist order that held ceremonies at temples.
