The Purpose of this study is to examine the influence of Rousseau`s Naturalism on Physecal education. As a means of accomplishing this goal, various related materials were researched and the results may be summarised as follows: Naturalism was espoused and developed by Rousseaau and his followers, and its main theme was escaping from the restraints of society and returning to nature. Rousseau`s Naturalism had a considerable influence on physecal education and his ideas corresponded to the purpose of modern physecal education which is the formation of an ideal personality. He emphasized the training of mind and body as the purpose of physical education. His method of physecal education was to educate children in agreement with nature. That is, he advocated education for children which satisfies their interests and chriosied and the principle of distinction that provides the development of children`s natural abilities in harmony with their indibidual characters. Rousseau`s idea of physical education shows the correct orientation for physical education, which is undergoing an essential deterioration at the present time.
