Abstract: The purpose of this study is to propose a new direction in the field of nail art design by utilizing Generative AI to create designs that reflect regional cultural characteristics and to present an example of AI technology applied to artistic creation. This study employed ChatGPT 4.0 to generate nail art designs based on the regional symbols of Busan: the Dongbaek flower, seagull, and mackerel. The nail art designs were developed in two styles—live-action design and character design—and each was analyzed in terms of color, pattern and shape, composition, texture, and style. This study holds significance as a foundational exploration of the convergence between Generative AI and nail art design, as well as the potential for expanding nail art design that incorporates locality. Future research should focus on refining design generation techniques using more advanced AI models and exploring the potential for global market applications by developing nail art designs that reflect the cultural symbols of diverse regions.
