Risperidone Quicklet 사용에 의한 지속성 딸꾹질의 치료 = Treatment of Persistent Hiccups with Risperidone Quicklet

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 증례는 심각한 신체적 허약상태에서 48시간 이상 지속된 지속성 딸꾹질을 보인 환자에게 risperidone quicklet을 투여하여 증상을 치료한 사례이다. 결론적으로 비정형 항정신병 약물인 risperidone quicklet이 지속성 딸꾹질 의 치료 방법의 하나로 사용될 수 있으며 기존에 사용하던 약제보다 적은 부작용과 높은 치료적 효능 그리고 간편한 복용으로 인한 잇점이 있을 것으로 생각된다.

Hiccups result from the involuntary contraction of the diaphragm and intercostal muscles. Most hiccups are self-limiting, but intractable hiccups can sometimes lead to multiple problems, including exhaustion. Persistent or intractable hiccups may be related to the presence of a serious underlying systemic disease. A 52-year-old male who had suffered from gastric cancer was referred from a surgical department for persistent hiccups. He was initially unsuccessfully managed using a conservative method, i.e., breath-holding, induced gag reflex, and the oral administration of chlorpromazine. We administered Risperdal Quicklet™ (risperidone orally disintegrating tablets) after which the hiccups disappeared. We conclude that Risperdal Quicklet™ is an effective treatment method for persistent hiccups.
