라이프니츠 철학의 결정론적 성격 = 가능세계와 개체의 통세계적 동일성

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문의 목적은 라이프니츠의 철학이 결정론적인 성격을 띠고 있음을 보이는 것이다. 많은 라이프니츠 철학 주석가들은 라이프니츠가 결정론에 빠지지 않는다고 주장한다. 그리고 이러한 주장은 라이프니츠 스스로의 주장이기도 하다. 그러나 그의 철학에 대한 면밀한 연구는 라이프니츠가 실제로 결정론에 빠지고 있음을 보여준다. 이를 보이기 위해 본 논문은 두 가지 접근법을 취한다. 하나는 구문론적 접근법으로, ‘필연적으로’라는 양상 단어가 문장 내에서 잘못 미끄러져 들어감으로써, 라이프니츠가 결정론에 빠지게 되는 과정을 보이는 것이다. 다른 하나는 의미론적 접근법으로, 개체의 통세계적 동일성에 관한 라이프니츠의 입장이 어떤 식으로 결정론에 도달하게 되는지를 보이는 것이다, 이 두 접근법을 통해 우리는 라이프니츠의 철학이 결정론적 성격을 띠고 있음을 볼 수 있을 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper elucidates how the Leibnizian philosophy came to have deterministic character. Many commentators of Leibnizian philosophy defend the position that Leibniz doesn't fall into determinism, and this position is the one which Leibniz himself defends. Nevertheless, careful study of his philosophy show us that he really falls into the determinism. To show this fact, this paper takes two sorts of approach. First, as a syntactical approach, it shows how modal word 'necessarily' slips, and by this fact how Leibniz goes into determinism. Second, as a semantical approach, it shows how the Leibniz's intuition of the transworld Identity of individual makes him go into determinism. By these two sorts of approach, we can see that Leibniz is a determinist.
