This is the second study, following the analysis of Christian universities in Japan, and it aims to investigate and analyze the current state of seminaries and educational content in Japan, as well as consider the implications from a missionary standpoint. The research method first searched Wikipedia for information on the current state of Japanese seminaries, and then analyzed each school's website. The study's findings are as follows: First, as of 2022, Japan has 168 seminaries and related educational programs in operation. There are eight Catholic and 156 Protestant seminary schools, with 11 (6.5%) registered by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology, and the majority of them established with the assistance of each denomination and missionary organization. Second, there are 11 Japanese seminaries dedicated to evangelism, with theological backgrounds in three reformist Presbyterian, three Baptist, seven Methodist, Holy Communion, four Lutheran churches, and 23 other denominations. Third, the communication system not only provides training for theologians and pastors but also various educational opportunities for believers and volunteers needed for religious lectures and church service. Fourth, an examination of the curriculum at Tokyo Theological University revealed that theological education was divided into four areas: biblical theology, organizational theology, history theology, and practical theology, and detailed subjects were taught systematically.
