‘디자인사고 기반 메이커교육’프로그램 사례연구 : 체인지메이커(Changemaker)로서의 인식 함양을 중심으로 = A Case Study Of A“Design Thinking-based Maker Education”Program: Centering on The Competency of Changemakers

국문 초록 (Abstract)

4차 산업혁명 시대의 기술적 혁신과 지식범람에 대응하여 역량의 함양을 통한 공동체의 결속과 사회참여가 중요한 화두로 떠오르고 있다. 이에 물질적 역량에 기초하면서 메이커 정신(mindsets)을 함양할 수 있는 메이커 교육이 교육적 대안으로 제시되었으며, 특히 사회적 문제/이슈의 해결을 목적으로 궁극적으로 실천적 시민의 태도를 지향하는 사회문제 해결형 메이커 교육에 주목할 수 있다. 이런 맥락에서 타인에 대한 배려와 이해로서의‘공감(empathy)’을 강조하는‘디자인사고 기반 모형 프로그램’을 활용하여, 메이커 활동을 사회적 차원으로 문제를 확장하고, 그 결과물의 사회적 적용을 통해, 궁극적으로 실천적인 사회참여를 이끌어내는‘체인지메이커(Changemaker)’로서의 경험을 지향하는 메이커교육 프로그램(9차시)을 S여자 고등학교 15명을 대상으로 개발. 적용하였다. 그리고 그 결과로서 참여한 학생들이 체인지메이커로서의 인식(공감능력, 문제해결력, 팀워크, 협력적 리더십)을 경험할 수 있는지를 질적 자료(학습자의 성찰일지, 심층인터뷰, 강사의 심층인터뷰)를 바탕으로 분석 및 제시하였고, 디자인사고 기반 메이커교육이 체인지메이커로서의 인식에 긍정적인 학습 효과를 가진다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Innovative and rapid development of digital technology in the 4th industrial revolution era has led to increased concern and interest in unique and distinctive human competencies which are characterized as forming social networking and solidarity among communities. Maker Education, at this time, has been regarded as an educational alternative, since it aims to cultivate material competencies as well as maker mindsets for social development, chance, and participation. In this context, this study conducted a case study with 15 high school students for 9 sessions, a program designed based on a ‘Design Thinking-based Maker Education’ model in which extra emphasis was place on ‘empathy,’ and ‘social issues’. The results of the case study were analyzed to examine how the students of the program have experienced their interests and concerns on social participation and development with regard to the viewpoint of ‘Changemaker’. Qualitative data collected from reflective journals, interviews with the students and the instructors showed positive results in terms of the four elements of Changemaker (empathy, problem-solving, teamwork, and collaborative leadership).
