산삼과 장뇌삼 중 고려삼과 서양삼의 Pyrosequencing법에 의한 감별 = Genetical Identification of Korean Wild Ginseng and American Wild Ginseng by Using Pyrosequencing Method

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Objective : This study was performed to determine if two ginseng species(Korean wild ginseng, Panax ginseng and American wild ginseng, Panax quinquefolia) could be identified by genetic analysis and to verify Pyrosequencing analysis, which was used to assess genetic variation.

Method : The DNAs of Panax species were extracted, and we have investigated the typing of single-base variations of Panax species in DNA by using Pyrosequencing.

Result : The Pyrosequencing results showed clear data. American wild ginseng showed different pattern compared with Korean wild ginseng. The peak of American wild ginseng was very week in the first T nucleotide base but that of Korean wild ginseng was very high in the first T nucleotide base.

Conclusion : Pyrosequencing analysis might be able to provide the identification of the wild Panax species(Korean wild Ginseng and American wild Ginseng).
