The color, which is being appeared by phenomenon of the light could be a way to present the beauty of hair. But because most of materials presenting these colors are toxic chemicals, it is true that people are much interested in natural dyes, the most nature friendly. So, in this paper we have analyzed color tones and color differences by tuning temperature to determine the dye-property of loess on hair using iris, a natural fixative. In the color tune analysis, value of L* didn`t decrease much at 40℃and 60℃, and value of a* and b* didn`t increase much. This indicates that there is less dye-property at 40℃ and 60℃ that it couldn`t present the dark color of the loess. At 80℃and 100℃, value L* decreased but value of a* and b* increased. This, we think, indicates that it presents a dark color of the loess because it contains much Fe2O3 belonging to series of red color and colors belonging to series of dark color. In the color difference analysis, drop ranges of ΔL*, Δa*, Δb* showed the same inflection point with 50 minutes at 40℃, 40 minutes at 60℃, 20 minutes at 80℃ and 10 minutes at 100℃. The biggest inflection point out of these was 20 minutes at 80℃.
