특집논문: 문화연구의 비판적 성찰; "문화" 개념과 "성차" 관련 개념들에 관한 몇 가지 고찰 : 1990년대 이후 한국 사회 "페미니즘 문화연구"를 중심으로 = Several Considerations on "Culture" and "Sexual differences" related concepts- Focused on "Feminist Cultural Studies" in Korean Society Since 1990s

국문 초록 (Abstract)

페미니즘 문화연구는 단일한 하나의 학제적 카테고리라기보다, 학제와 학제를 가로 지르며, 맥락화된 현실과 이론을 오가는 두 연구 분야가 만나거나 혹은 경합하며 이론을 생산해내는 장(field)이다. 따라서 지난 20여년간 한국 사회에서 이루어진 "페미니즘 문화연구"의 작업을 검토하는 이 글은 핵심적인 개념인 "문화"와 "성차" 관련 개념들을 나침반 삼아 그 변동과정을 따라가보는 방식을 취하고자 한다. 우선 서구 사회 "문화"와 "성차"관련 개념 변동 지형은 첫째, 문화 개념을 경유한 남성우월체계와 그 논리비판, 둘째, 구조기능주의적 논의에서 "성차별적 문화"의 섹스-젠더 환원성, 셋째, 문화연구의 등장과 함께 가능해진 페미니즘 문화연구 활성화로 파악되었다. 또한 한국 사회 변동의 계기는 다음과 같다. 첫째, "중심 모순"에 대한 대당 개념으로서의 "문화" 와 주변적 위치로서의 "여성" 개념 등장, 둘째, 성정치론자들의 "섹슈얼리티"와 규범적 "성문화"에 관한 문제제기, 셋째, 성정치론자들의 문제제기와 문화연구 프레임을 받아들인 페미니스트들이 분석하는 성별과 섹슈얼리티의 교차성 그리고 대중문화. 이러한 "성차" 관련 개념과 "문화" 개념의 변동 속에서 페미니즘 문화연구의 외연은 확대되었지만, 매체의 다변화, 문화산업의 양적 성장이라는 조건들 속에서 더욱 조밀하고 복잡해지는 성차의 의미망들을 관련 체제들과 연관지어 분석, 비판해야 하는 새로운 과제가 도래했다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Feminist Cultural Studies is rather an interdisciplinary field producing theories by different areas traversing contextualized reality and theories than a homogeneous disciplinary category. Therefore, this article which examines tasks of "Feminist Cultural Studies" in Korean society for over twenty years takes the essential "culture" and "sexual differences" related concepts as a compass and follows their changing process. To begin with, the changing topography of "culture" and "sexual differences" related concepts in Western society was grasped by 1) the criticism on male supremacy and its logic via culture concept 2) sex-gender reduction of "sexist culture" concept in structural functional discussion 3) the increased Feminist Cultural Studies enabled by the advent of cultural studies. In addition, the causes of the changes in Korean society are as follows. 1) the advent of "culture" concept as a anti idea against "main cause of problem of Korean society" and "women" concept as a marginal position 2) sexual politics 'raising a question about "sexuality" and normative "sexual culture" 3) intersection of gender and sexuality and popular culture analyzed by feminists who accepted sexual politics' question and the frame of cultural studies. In the aforementioned changes of "sexual differences" related concepts and "culture" concept, the scope of feminist cultural studies has been extended. Yet, under the conditions of diversified media and quantitative growth of cultural industries, the new task of analyzing and criticising the denser and more complicated semantic net in the association with related system has arrived.
