Facebook, the most popular Web 2.0 technology, provides educators with new possibilities for reaching their students. As this technology is new, there is not a total understanding of how this technology could best be used in education. This study reviews use cases of Facebook in college education and relevant learning theories. The goal of this study is to propose a teaching and learning framework for the class use of Facebook based on the social constructivist learning theory that leveraged several emergent learning models.
