Purpose: Recently, the importance of reliability design has emerged in domestic R&D projects. The goal is to increase the reliability of missiles via reliability physics analysis based on the physics of reliability.
Methods: Reliability prediction results are confirmed by applying reliability physics analysis to CPU-board with high failure rate. Design alternatives are derived by reviewing methods for identifying vulnerable areas and improving their reliability.
Results: The CPU-board reliability result was set as a baseline and design changes were performed to improve the reliability in vulnerable areas to confirm the results. A design plan that can satisfy the reliability goal was derived and presented by combining various plans.
Conclusion: It was confirmed that the reliability prediction result applying the design alternative satisfies the reliability goal. This methodology is expected to be applied from the beginning of the design to ensure the risk and reliability of various tests and thus increase the availability of weapon systems.
