무전공제 도입에 따른 시각디자인 지식체계 구축을 위한 AI 융합 교과목 개발 = Development of AI convergence curriculum to build a visual design knowledge system in response to the introduction of undeclared major system

국문 초록 (Abstract)

2025학년도부터 본격적으로 시행되는 무전공제 확대로 인해 디자인 전공을 선택할 수 있는 대학 역시 증가하였다. 무전공제의 취지가 창의융합형 인재 양성이라는 점에 따라 본 연구는 무전공 입학생을 대상으로 현시대에 부합하는 AI 기술과 융합한 시각디자인 기초 교과목을 제안함에 목적이 있다. 연구 방법은 학술 논문과 서적, 최신 기사들을 바탕으로 기초 문헌 조사를 진행하여 무전공, 융합 교육, 인공지능 디자인 교육에 대하여 파악하고 분석하여 연구의 기반으로 활용하였다. 이론적 배경은 무전공제와 AI 융합 디자인 교육의 현황에 따른 융합 교육의 방향성과 유형을 살펴보았다. 연구 결과는 융합 교육의 다학문적 유형에 따라 핵심역량과 융합 교육 모델을 설정하였고 기초학문을 강화한 지식체계 구축을 위하여 ‘생성형 AI와 기초시각디자인’ 교과목을 설계하였다. 수업은 시각디자인에서 가장 필수적으로 사용되는 타이포그래피, 편집디자인과 함께 기호학과 서비스디자인을 활용한 인포그래픽 작업을 AI 기술과 융합한 실습 교육을 진행하며 이는 각 디자인과 AI의 이론 교육을 기반으로 한다. 이를 통해 무전공 입학 학생들은 디자인 분야에서 큰 변화를 일으키고 있는 생성형 AI를 사용해 봄으로써 디자인의 기초 이론과 함께 AI 융합형 디자인 인재의 기초 역량을 기를 수 있다. 또한 학생이 디자인 작업물을 스스로 평가함에 따라 사고의 확장과 인지적 유연성, 소통과 협력의 역량 역시 키울 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구가 무전공 학생들에게 디자인 전공의 체험 기회를 제공할 수 있길 바라며 추후 다양한 융합 디자인 교과목 발전이 이루어지길 바란다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The expansion of the undeclared major system, which will be fully implemented in the class of 2025, has also increased the number of colleges that offer design majors. As the purpose of the undeclared major system is to cultivate creative convergence talents, this study aims to propose a basic visual design curriculum for undeclared major students that is converged with AI technology in line with the current era. The research method was to conduct a basic literature survey based on academic papers, books, and recent articles to identify and analyze undeclared major, convergence education, and AI design education, and use them as the basis for the research. For the theoretical background, we looked at the direction and type of convergence education according to the current status of undeclared major and AI convergence design education. As a result of the research, core competencies and a convergence education model were established according to the multidisciplinary type of convergence education, and a course on 'Generative AI and Basic Visual Design' was designed to build a knowledge system that strengthens the basic disciplines. The class provides practical training on infographic work using semiotics and service design along with typography and editorial design, which are the most essential elements of visual design, and fuses them with AI technology, which is based on theoretical training on each design and AI. This allows undeclared majors to get hands-on with generative AI, which is disrupting the design field, and develop the foundational skills of AI-infused design talent alongside the fundamental theory of design. As students self-evaluate their design work, they will also expand their thinking and develop cognitive flexibility, communication and collaboration skills. We hope that this study will provide undeclared majors with the opportunity to experience design majors and will lead to the development of various interdisciplinary design courses in the future.
