Grouping robots is one of the most important issues in multi robot systems. Most studies on grouping have objective of realizing cooperation and coordination between robots for solving specific problems. This set of robots is called a robot cluster. This paper evaluates robot selection schemes employed for a robot cluster to perform a specific task. We evaluate simple robot selection methods through an analysis of the time used to organize a cluster by Network Simulation 2 (NS-2). The obtained results along with fundamental data are used to develop an efficient robot selection algorithm. In addition, problems related to organizing the cluster are discussed.
