The past shooting season in Scotland has been an excellent one, particularly on the front range of the Grampians. The different shooting parties located there have had grand and glorious sport. Grouse bred well in the past summer; black game, the same; and there has been a great increase of that magnificent bird, "the cock 'o the north," or "capercailzie;" and in most of the pine forests of Perthshire they are in great plenty. Partridges did well in the low straths, as also pheasants and hares, both brown and blue, and in superabundance.
