기호와 현실 사이의 역동적 세미오시스에 대한 기호학과 맑스주의의 비교와 종합 = The Synthesis of Semiotic and Marxist Studies on the Dynamic Semiosis between Signs and Reality

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper synthesized semiotic and Marxist studies on the dynamic semiosis between signs and reality through Buddhism. The reality is not represented in a transparent way, but distorted by signs, world view, power, ideology, form, structure, and time. The reality itself is composed in multi-layered form, and it takes the aspect of ideological practice. The real overlaps the imaginary with the symbolic. We are travelers who try to reach jouissance but do not arrive, and follow the mirage again after giving up every time whenever knowing that the object of desire is a fantasy. The reality is a world in which subjects desire a desire. The real(cham, 體1) is unknown and impossible to reach, but parts of them are revealed through actions/functions/practices(jit, 用). It creates texts(pum, 相) such as diaries, media reports, historical recordings, and social media texts through the medium of signs and forms under the domination of power. Because this text contains the essence(mom, 體2), the reading subjects interpret the text and read the parts of reality contained in the text. The real of cham and the reality of mom that is interpreted and reconstructed through text are not the same. We can approach the real when we face up to the real as ultimate reality and recognize the limits of signs and the medium of form correctly, and criticize and resist against power and ideology. In the infinite repetition of reality, the very differences made by political, artistic, and unconscious negation and resistance are a beautiful things and creates true meanings.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

기호와 현실 사이의 역동적 세미오시스에 대하여 기호학과 맑스주의를 비교하고, 불교를 매개로 양자를 융합하여 현실이 형식을 매개로 기호로 재현되면서 세미오시스를 빚어내고 인간의 사고와 실천을 규정하는 역동적인 상관관계에 대해 알아보았다.
현실은 투명하게 재현되는 것이 아니라 기호, 세계관, 권력 및 이데올로기, 형식, 구조, 시간에 의해 매개되거나 왜곡된다. 현실은 과거와 현재와 미래, 상상계와 상징계와 실재가 중층적으로 구성된 것이며 이데올로기의 실천양상을 띤다. 우리는 주이상스에이르려 하지만 다다르지 못한 채 욕망의 대상이 허상임을 알고 포기하다가도 다시 신기루를 좇는 나그네이며, 실재는 욕망을 욕망하는 세계다. 현실[참, 體1]은 알 수 없고다다를 수도 없지만, 인간의 사건과 상징적 상호작용 행위[짓, 用]를 통해 일부 몸「體2」 으로 드러난다. 이는 권력의 지배 아래 기호와 형식의 매개를 거쳐서 일기, 언론 보도, 역사기록물, SNS 글 등의 텍스트[품, 相]를 만든다. 이 텍스트가 몸을 품고 있기에 읽는 주체들은 텍스트를 해석하면서 텍스트에 담긴 현실[몸, 體2]을 읽는다. 실재 현실인 참의 현실[體1]과 텍스트를 통해 해석하고 재구성한 몸의 현실[體2]은 동일하지 않다.
실상(實相)으로서 현실을 직시하고, 기호의 한계와 형식의 매개에 대하여 올바로 인식하고, 권력과 이데올로기에 대하여 비판하고 저항할 때, 참의 현실에 다가갈 수 있다. 무한한 반복의 현실 속에서 정치적, 예술적, 무의식적 부정과 저항이 빚어내는 차이야말로 아름다운 일이며 참다운 의미를 구성한다.
