부모 사별 아동대상 외상 중심 통합적 놀이치료사례: 애도과정을 중심으로 = A Case study of Integrated play therapy with a Parent bereaved child: Emphasizing on grieving

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of trauma-focused integrated play therapy with a child who had experience loss of father. The counselor conducted 37 intervention sessions based on the Trauma-focused integrated play therapy approach. As with the results of previous studies, this counseling case alternately showed two coping styles, loss and recovery, rather than completing a specific phase or task in the mourning process. The results of this study show that the clients in the mourning process should mourn for their own needs and focus on the process of recovery and growth through bereavement. This article suggests that effective counseling methods have been explored and applied to counseling based on traumatic integrated play therapy approach to children who experienced a life event of parent bereavement. This study can be of practical assistance to field specialists and educators who counsel children.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 아버지 사별을 경험한 아동을 대상으로 외상 중심 통합 놀이치료를 실시한 상담사례이다. 상담자는 외상중심통합놀이치료 접근을 기반으로 총 37회기의 개입을 진행하였다. 상담자는 주된 상담접근으로 선행연구를 검토하여 외상 중심 통합적 놀이치료를 실시하였다. 상담결과, 내담 아동은 애도 과정에서 특정한 단계를 거치거나 과업을 완수한다기보다 상실과 회복이라는 두 가지 대처의 모습을 번갈아 나타내었다. 이 연구의 결과는 내담자가 부모 사별 이후 단계적으로 어떤 과업들을 수행했는가 보다는 내담자가 그 사별을 견뎌내고 성장하며 회복하는 과정에 중점을 두고 상담 과정을 따라 가야함을 보여준다. 또한 부모 사별을 경험한 아동을 상담할 때에 두 가지의 대처가 번갈아 나타난다는 것을 확인함으로써 상담과정에 대한 구체적인 안내를 제공해준다. 이 논문은 부모 사별이라는 충격적 생활사건을 경험한 아동에게 외상중심통합 놀이치료접근을 기반으로 상담을 실시하여 효과적인 상담 방법을 탐색하고 적용했다는 의의가 있다. 또한 애도 상담을 통해 부모 사별 이후의 삶에 적응해나가는 아동의 상담 과정을 면밀하게 살펴보고 제시했다는 점에서 부모를 사별한 아동의 상담에 도움이 될 것이다.
