Present study is aimed at to find, as a creativity component, the influence of overcoming fixation towards achievement in mathematics. The sample size is 263. It has been found that students who overcome fixation achieve higher in mathematics and there is a significant correlation in between overcoming fixation and achievement in mathematics. Conversely it has been found that scores of low and average achievers in mathematics do not correlate significantly with their overcoming fixation scores. Whereas it correlates significantly for the higher achievers, though a large number of whom fail to overcome fixation.
