Spontaneous osteonecrosis of the knee was first described by Ahlback et a1, and is still of unkaown etiology and known etiolagy were steroid induced and trauma, Radiologically, similar feature in femoral head avascular necrosis was shown, and there is a subchondral radiolucent area usually surrouned by a sclerotic halo in the weight bearing portion of the medial femoral condyle; further, there is a high focal uptake by radionuclid0 scintimetry, Theie is intense pain. The initially described cases were in the medial femoral condyle, but lesions in the lateral femoral condyle and in the medial tibial pleteau were reported. Prognosis oif the disease depends on the size of the lesion. The end stage is progressive arthrosis, so preventive therapy was necessary in early stage. The osteonecrosises of the knee associated with avascular necrosis of femoral head were very rare and report cases were alsa very rare. In this study, the lesion of osteonecrosis were involved multifocal and were more diffuse than thdse of spontaneous osteonecrosis. The aim of this study was to report the 7 knees in 4 patients with the osteonecrosises of the knee associated with avascular necrosis of femoral head.
