청소년의 개인-집합주의 가치관과 어머니의 심리적 통제 및 온정성에 대한 청소년의 지각 간의 관계

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구의 목적은 청소년의 성과 문화성향에 따라 부모의 심리적 통제와 온정성이에 대한 지각에 차이에 대해 알아보는 것이다. 또한 청소년이 지각하는 부모의 심리적 통제와 온정성 간의 관계를 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해 서울과 수도권에 거주하는 고등학생 701명(M age=16.56, yrs; SD=.86)이 연구에 참여하였다, 연구자료는 청소년의 집합-개인 문화성향, 부모의 심리적 통제, (분리불안 심리적 통제, 성취지향 심리적 통제), 부모의 온정성(사랑, 헌신)에 대해 자기보고형식으로 수집되었다. 그 결과 청소년의 성과 문화성향에 따른 부모의 심리적 통제와 온정성에 대한 상호작용은 유의미하지 않았으나 청소년의 성, 문화성향 각각의 주효과는 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 청소년이 지각하는 부모의 심리적 통제와 온정성은 청소년의 성과 문화적 성향에 따라 다른다. 남자청소년일수록, 그리고 개인주의 또는 집합-개인주의적 가치관이 공존하는 청소년들은 집합주의적 가치관을 가진 청소년들보다 부모의 심리적 통제를 더 높게 지각하였다, 반면에 여자청소년일수록, 그리고 집합주의적 또는 집합-개인주의적 가치관이 공존하는 가치관을 가진 청소년들은 부모의 사랑을 더 높게 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 이러한 결과는 자율성이 인간의 잠재력을 최적으로 발휘하고 긍정적인 발달을 촉진하기 위해서는 핵심적인 심리적 욕구라는 자기결정이론을 지지하는 결과이다.

This study aimed at exploring whether parental psychological control and parental warmth differ depending on adolescent’s gender and cultural orientation. The associations between parental psychological control and parental warmth were also examined. Participants were 701 adolescents recruited from high schools (M age=16.56, yrs; SD=.86) in Seoul. Data were collected through questionnaires on individualistic-collectivistic value, parental psychological control and parental warmth reported by adolescents. As results, main effects of gender & cultural orientation in perceiving parental psychological control and parental warmth. Namely, Adolescents’ perception of their parents' psychological control and warmth vary depending on their gender own cultural orientations. Boys and adolescents with High Individualism Group or Individualism-Collectivism Coexistence Group compared to High Collectivism Group obtain higher scores for their parents’ separation-anxious & achievement-oriented psychological control. Girls and adolescents with High Collectivism Group and or Individualism-Collectivism Coexistence Group Compared to High Individualism Group obtain higher scores for their father and mother’s love.
