동향 분석과 언어네트워크 분석으로 본 국내 유럽지역학 연구현황(2000~2022) = Understanding the Current State of EU Studies in Korea through Trend Analysis and Language Network Analysis (2000~2022)

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 국내 유럽지역학 동향을 2000년부터 2022년까지 발간한 학술지 논문 내용을 바탕으로 살펴본다. 본 연구는 질적 접근과 양적 접근을 혼합하였다. 질적 연구의 경우 연구 전선을 검증하는 방식의 동향 분석을 수행했고 양적 연구 같은 경우 언어 네트워크를 도출해 연구의 주제적 유형의 변화를 탐구하고자 했다. 본 연구는 연구 동향과 주제의 변화과정을 세 가지 시기로 나눠서 통시적 접근을 통해 변화를 관찰했다. 동향 분석에서 유럽지역학은 사회과학이 전반적으로 우세하였고 2020년까지 양적인 성장을 이루었으나 최근 들어 위축되었다. 언어 네트워크에서는 전반적인 연구주제는 유사했으나 2010년 들어 유럽의 위기가 연구주제로 등장했다. 현 상황에서 본 연구는 지원정책의 갱신을 통한 보완, 연구자들의 학문적 혁신 그리고 글로벌 위기 상황에 대한 대처 구상을 마지막으로 주문했다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examines trends in European area studies in Korea based on the contents of academic papers published in Korea from 2000 to 2022. This study adopted a mixed approach between quantitative and qualitative research. For the qualitative research, trend analysis was conducted in a way that verifies the research fronts, and for the quantitative research, language networks were adopted for exploring changes of research topic patterns. This study observed changes through a holistic approach by dividing the research trend and the process of changing the subject into three periods (2000~2010, 2011~2020, 2021~2022). There are some findings from the different approaches. From the trend analysis, the results show that humanity research were outnumbered by the social science research.
Up to 2020, the research has been grown in terms of the quantity. But from 2021, the research has been shrunk significantly, which needs further attention. From the language network analysis, the results show the research topics in European studies were similar over the research period, except for the EU’s crisis as a new topic emerged in the 2010s. In the end, this study finally requested government’s policy revision, researchers’ academic innovation and countermeasures against global crisis situations for the sustainable development of European Studies in Korea.
