사관생도의 그릿(Grit)이 성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 종단적 연구 = The Influence of GRIT on Performance among Korea Military Academy Cadets - A Longitudinal Study -

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

A longitudinal study was conducted using a sample of 286 Korea Military Academy cadets to investigate the effects of grit on various performance outcomes. The impact of grit on performance existed even after controlling for core self-evaluations. Grit longitudinally predicted leadership competency evaluation score, subjective performance, life attitude scores, and self-development. The perseverance of effort facet has significantly stronger criterion validities than the consistency of interest facet. Especially, self-reported perseverance of effort has positive relations with leadership competency evaluation score, award and penalty scores, and self-development in all times, while self-reported consistency of interest had no positive relations. For academic program score, self-reported perseverance of effort had no impact. Source of grit ratings (self-ratings or other-ratings) has different impact on grit-performance relation. Implications and limitations are discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 286명의 사관생도들을 대상으로 종단적 연구를 통해 그릿이 다양한 성과 변수들에 미치는 영향을 탐색적으로 분석하였다. 핵심자기평가를 통제한 상태에서 그릿은 성과 변수에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 여러 시점에 성과 변수들을 측정한 결과, 그릿은 리더십 역량진단 점수, 주관적 성과, 생활태도 점수, 그리고 자기개발 점수에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그릿의 두 가지 하위차원 중에서는 꾸준한 노력이 지속적 관심보다 더 강한 기준관련 타당도를 나타내었다. 특히 자기보고식으로 측정된 꾸준한 노력은 모든 측정시점의 리더십 역량진단 점수, 생활태도 점수, 자기개발 점수에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 반면, 자기보고식으로 측정된 지속적 관심은 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 한편 일반학 성적에 대해서는 본인이 측정한 꾸준한 노력이 아무런 영향을 미치지 않았다. 또한 그릿을 자신이 평가했는지 타인이 평가했는지에 따라 그릿과 성과 변수들의 관계는 상이한 결과를 보여주었다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 시사점과 연구의 한계점 및 향후 연구방향이 논의 되었다.
