춤의 새로운 비전을 위한 고찰 : 몸의 체험을 기반으로 한 연구와 성찰을 위하여 = A study for The New Vision of Dance -based on Somatics

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 춤의 현 상황을 진단해 보고 춤의 비전과 새로운 패러다임을 제시 하는 것을 내용으로 하는 일종의 춤 문화 비평이다. 이 연구의 바탕이 되는 이론은 쟈크 데리다(Jacques Derrida 1930-2004)의 해체론(deconstruction)과 하나 토마스(Thomas Hanna 1928-1990)의 몸학(Somatics)이다. 이를 기초로 본 연구는 삶과 예술, 춤 창작 작업과 춤 연구 활동 등을 이분법적으로 분리하는 사고를 해체(deconstruction)하고 통합적인 사고와 실천을 지향하는 것을 그 내용으로 하고 있다. 삶과 예술, 실기와 이론을 분리하는 사고는 21세기의 춤 현상과 춤 연구 그리고 본 연구를 이해하는데 도움이 되지 않는다. 또한 본 연구에서는 삶과 유리된 딱딱하고 권위적인 글쓰기에서 벗어나서, 문화 비평과 몸학에서 자주 쓰고 있는 방식인, 명료하면서도 편안하고 솔직한 글쓰기를 시도하였다. 국제화 시대의 춤 창작의 비전은 문화상호주의(interculturalism)가 더욱 확대될 것이고 따라서 하나의 문화 형식의 고수 보다는 문화 간의 소통을 통한 융화가 더욱 두드러지게 드러날 것이다. 무용연구의 전망은 학제간 연구(interdisciplinary research)와 동시에 무용학이 독립된 학문으로서 자리를 굳혀 나가는 양측이 다 병행할 것이라고 전망할 수 있다. 무용학의 독자성을 위해서는 몸학을 토대로 한 '실기를 기반으로 한 연구(Practice based research)'가 절실히 필요하다고 할 수 있다. 또한 극장 무용뿐만이 아니라 다양한 춤 활동들이 드러날 것이고 이를 다 측면에서 연구하는 시스템의 구축이 필요할 것이다. 이를 위해서 다양한 자료의 확보, 공유와 테크놀로지를 활용하는 것이 필요하고, 무용 교육(대학무용과)의 현장에서는 국제화 시대에 걸맞은 교육안을 개발해서 국제적으로 무용인을 유치하여 교육시킬 필요가 있다. 춤과 삶, 실기와 이론 그리고 몸과 정신을 통섭하는 사고 속에서 춤의 새로운 전망은 가능하다. 내몸과 우주가 하나되어 인간을 치유하고 함께 살게 하는데 춤적 실천이 필요하고 이것이 바로 춤의 새로운 비전의 핵심이라고 할 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research involves diagnosing the current state of dance and presenting the vision of dance and paradigm, and is a type of critical literature on dance culture. The background theory for this research has its basis on Jacques Derrida's (1930-2004) deconstruction and Somatics by Thomas Hanna (1928-1990). The deconstruction distinguishes between life and research, production and theory, and speech and writing. A dichotomised process of thinking which distinguishes between theory and practice as well as life and arts is not helpful when understanding the reality of dance, nor when trying to understand this research. Therefore this article will deviate from the rigid, patronizing type of article, towards a more honest, tranquil type of article that has been written as if writing a diary or a set of notes. The interculturialistic production trends in the United States and Europe have been considered as one of the most significant cultural developments in recent times. The dance departments in universities should emphasise the importance of research as well as production, and develop a system to produce more researchers. For this new kind of paradigm, a dichotomised chain of thought is important. It is time to divert from the separated thinking of dance and life, as these are times when dance and life needs to become one to enable humanity to live positively. The new prospect of dance can be embodied by accepting and enjoying difference, to consider others above themselves, to let others go ahead instead of trying to beat them and to be kind to others and be critical of ourselves.
