A Study on the Formation of a Nation-State in Korea: Cultural and Historic Perspectives

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문의 본 연구는 국가라는 집단의 문화적, 역사적 형성과 한국의 민족국가 형성 과정을 검토함으로써 바람직한 한국 사회의 가치관과 관점의 변화에 기여하고자 한다.
한국은 역사‧문화적으로 한국인이라는 사회 집단을 형성했다. 군주제 시대에는 민족내의 연대보다는 계급으로 차별화된 제도를 따르는 체제를 적절하게 운용하였다고 분석한다. 식민지 시대 이후, 한국인은 단일민족주의의 개념을 재건하고, 일본이주자에 대한 저항을 지속적으로 확대시켰다. 태평양전쟁이 종결된 이후, 세계 정치적 요인이 혼합되어 국가를 두 나라로 분단되어 현재까지 대립하고 있다.
본 연구에서는 한국의 과거와 현재의 민족의식 발전을 통해 세계화 이후 한국 사회에서 마주하게 될 새로운 민족관의 방향에 따라 미래시대에 한민족의 발전방향을 정립할 수 있을 것이다. 한편으로 본 연구를 통하여 지속적으로 발전하고 있는 한국학을 역사, 문화적으로 이해하는데 효과적인 과정을 확인하였다.

This study aims to contribute to changes in the values and views of Korean society in the future by examining the cultural and historical formation of a group called the nation and the process of forming a nation-state in Korea.
Korea has historically formed a social group called the Korean people. In the era of the monarchy, it was better to follow the caste system rather than the solidarity between peoples. After the colonial period, they re-established kinship nationalism and increased resistance to immigrants. After that, a nation had to be divided into two countries as world political factors were mixed.
In this study, through the past and present development of national consciousness in Korean Socio-psychology, it was possible to reevaluate the national view and position according to the new national view that will be encountered in Korean society after globalization.
