가정폭력에의 효과적 위기개입을 위한 제도적 개선책 연구 : 가정폭력 피해자에 대한 경찰 위기개입을 중심으로 = A Study on the Institutional Improvement Policies for the Effective Intervention into the Domestic Violence-Focusing on the Police Officers's Crisis Intervention

It has had a great importance how the police properly assist and protect the domestic violence victims who are placed in the crisis circumstances. The police play an important role in protecting domestic violence victims and solving the family crisis which the victims are destined to face on. They are the first agents to have contact with them. In that first contact, they can provide them with emotional support, various informations regarding criminal procedure and personal safety as well. With these reasons, police officer's behavioral patterns should be changed enough to meet the needs of victim.
On the other hand, the police initial response at the crime scene has been greatly influenced by the criminal justice system, and there is great necessity to research into the intitutional environment surrounding police organization. Due to these reasons, the several recommendations regarding institutional improvement, such as 'creating the special domestic violence unit', 'using the scientific technology', 'holding information in common with other entity', 'developing the risk assessment checklist', are proposed in this paper.
This paper is mainly focused on the police officers' crisis intervention policies against domestic violence in the phase of the preliminary investigation. The practice of these recommendations will be able to produce such a good result for the police to get the credibility from all the people including the criminal victims.
