맞벌이 기혼 남녀 관리자들의 일-가족 갈등 = Work-Family Conflicts for Married Managers in Dual-Earner Couples

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 일이 가족생활에 미치는 영향과 가족생활이 일에 미치는 영향의 성별차이를 살펴본다. 이를 위해 여성 관리자 패널을 이용하여 맞벌이 기혼 여성 관리자 976명과 남성 관리자 296명을 대상으로 일-가족 갈등과 가족-일 갈등을 분석하였다. 여성 관리자들은 남성 관리자들에 비해 일-가족 갈등과 가족-일 갈등을 모두 높게 인식하고 있다. 남녀 관리자들의 일-가족 갈등에 공통적으로 영향을 미치는 요인은 주당 총 근로시간과 직장상사 지원이었다. 직장 내 차별 경험은 남녀 관리자들의 가족-일 갈등에 공통적으로 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 결과는 일과 가족갈등의 성별 차이를 반영하고 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of the study is to examine gender differences in the conflicts between work and family. This study distinguishes work-to-family and family-to-work conflict. We use the information from a sample of 976 female managers and 296 male managers from the second wave of the Korean Women Manager Panel. We find that women experience higher levels of both work-to-family and family-to-work conflicts than men. The numbers of work hours and discrimination at the workplace are positively associated with work-family conflicts for both female and male managers, whereas supervisor support is positively related to work-family balance. We discuss the implications of our findings to the literature on gender differences in expectations and distributions of work and family roles.
