The purpose of this study is to suggest a method to help learners understand the world differently than before by activating their communication skills. This technique improves communication skills needed for freshmen rather than improving academic writing skills. And this technique doubles the efficacy of reflective writing, which is naturally raised in the process. The key to this technique is to have them design a ‘one-day group trip’ and go to the actual destination. This method was derived from the process of linking Kyung Hee University's 'Writing for Me' technique (focused on reflective writing activities) with Kangwon University's 'Writing and Speaking' (focused on creativity and communication). Learners who have visited the travel destination designed by themselves write a new feling with themselves. As a result, they understand themselves and the world in a different way than before. This goes beyond the limitations of reflective writing, which has been focused on imaginative practice.
