The present study investigates the importance of motivational strategies for enhancing motivation in second language (L2) classroom. Dörnyei (1994) has stated that L2 motivation is one of the influential factor for learners in the field of L2 motivation language learning. The purpose of the present study is to understand motivation through previous researches and perceive the importance of motivational strategies by empirical survey and utilize teaching in L2 classroom in Korea. Research questions focus on how important motivational strategies in L2 classroom are and how Korean teachers of English perceive the importance of motivational strategies for ESL teaching. Thus, results propose a set of the important motivational strategies in L2 classroom. Furthermore, the present study implicates process-oriented perception of motivation.
